The URKUND software checks the document presented to the journal with the content of web pages, libraries, books, and its own databases. Each manuscript sent to the Editor will be verified in the shortest possible time. In this process, URKUND provides a similarity report which highlights, on the one hand, the percentage of similarity resulting according to the number of words, and, on the other, the marking of the various sections, expressions or terms that are used. found in other documents. The editorial team of the Revista Ecuatoriana de Pediatría verifies the similarity report and, if necessary, this report will be sent to the Editor or Section Editor in charge of managing the article. The decision as to whether a manuscript should be rejected due to fraud or to proceed to the peer review process rests with the Section Editor. The similarity report can also be made available to the arbitrators.
