Main Article Content
Abstract
Esophageal achalasia is a rare disease in adolescents. Our Objective: To report
the surgical experience with laparoscopic Heller esophagomyotomy in four
adolescents. Methods: A retrospective cohort study of four patients between
2014 and 2023. Results: All presented with progressive dysphagia and were
classified as having type II achalasia. Three patients had an uneventful outcome.
Conclusions: Laparoscopic Heller esophagomyotomy with Dor plication is safe
and effective in adolescents with type II achalasia.
